About this product

Nylon-Tip Drumsticks

A nylon tip gives a brighter, more defined cymbal articulation than wood and it holds its shape indefinitely, so the sound on the last day of a tour is the sound on the first. For recording, and for anybody who wants the ride pattern to cut, that consistency is worth a lot.

It is also a joint, and joints fail. A nylon tip is fitted onto a turned seat at the end of the stick, and a badly cut seat or a poor fit lets the tip work loose and eventually fly off mid-set. That is the entire quality question in this product, and it is invisible in a photograph.

So we specify the seat rather than the tip. A properly cut, deep seat with the correct interference fit holds the tip through the life of the stick; a shallow one does not. We also state plainly that a lost tip is a lost stick, which is why we would not put nylon tips on a marching program’s order unless somebody asked for it.

Studios, recording drummers, players who live on the ride, and shops selling to both. Send your artwork and quantities for a free mockup and quote on custom nylon-tip drumsticks today.

FAQ

Nylon-Tip Drumsticks: quick answers

What is the minimum order for nylon-tip drumsticks?
Minimum order is just 12 — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my order arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and the finished order ships in about 2 weeks — express turnaround is available for tight dates.
Do nylon tips really fly off?
Cheap ones do, and it is always the seat rather than the nylon. The tip is fitted onto a turned seat at the end of the stick, and a shallow or badly cut seat lets it work loose over time. We specify the seat depth and fit, because that is the whole quality question and it is invisible in a photograph.
What do they actually sound like?
Brighter and more defined on cymbals than wood, with more cut in a ride pattern and a clearer articulation on the bell. The other advantage is consistency: a nylon tip keeps its shape, so the sound does not drift as a wood tip wears down.
